Why Do People Pass Away?
Why is life constructed in such a way that people are taken from us? While science can explain all of how this happens, death is a very necessary part of life. Life becomes that much more important when we have some sort of purpose, some sort of closure possible for those around us.
According to the Kübler-Ross model, there are 5 stages of grief. These are:
1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance
I tend to agree with this, but wonder why grief acts in such a fashion that we must go through said steps to reach acceptance. Why don’t we go through life accepting that a car could crash into you at any time? Why do we as human beings believe that all bad things happen to other people?
In a way, all of these cases can be justified as protection against the inevitable:death. I am not saying we should live wreckless, I am saying we should live prepared. If we aren’t prepared for death, it can sneak up on us all.
